My 7 days on IndyWeek

zw-final-four

Let’s check out the FINAL FOUR days of My 7 days on IndyWeek (check the entire spread with the Best Of issue next week). I enjoyed keeping track of my whereabouts and looking back on AN ENTIRE WEEK was cool. Well, after my first IndyWeek stalks Zach entry, I was actually told to eat more vegetables. Cool?

And I only hit the gym ONCE last week. What?

THE ZW TIMELINE: I typically work until 2am (often later) and wake up by 830am everyday. The DSI Comedy Office IS my house, so its really just a quick brush my teeth, make coffee and get back to work.

SATURDAY MAY 29th

1130am Carolina Fitness, 45 minutes on the elliptical to film a couple episodes of ZW Works Out — We can assume I went to the gym EVERY DAY until this project started, Right?

5pm The Old Well at UNC Chapel Hill for an AWESOME wedding rehearsal, for DJ PJ and Assistant DA Jeff Nieman and the lovely Stephanie Poole. Fantastic weather.

645pm He’s Not Here for a private rehearsal dinner. Sweet Water in Blue Cups and ribs catered by Pig Masters. Oh, and a record number of speeches! … Because of the Blue Cups

SUNDAY MAY 30th

11am ACME Food & Beverage Co. for BRUNCH! — what didn’t I eat? So good. I somehow got ousted as the Mayor of ACME on Foursquare and I’m working to correct this.

2pm Berkshire Manor West for impromptu pool party. SPF15. Left just after a lesbian hipster scolded two kids for flipping off a ladder. Not even I’m strong enough to mediate that conflict.

4pm Franklin Street Courthouse to get ready in the judge’s chambers and take wedding pictures. My favorite, 12 Angry Men in the jury box.

530pm Old Well for THE WEDDING! Fantastic weather. Not fantastic? Charcoal gray suits.

6pm R&R Grill for dancing and Fat Tire. Not necessarily in that order.

11pm Bada Wings in Carrboro for latenight snack. We were the only people in the entire place and they were playing jazz. Crazy scene from When Harry Met Sally. Or maybe Twilight Zone.

MONDAY MAY 31st

9am My Bed, where I stayed for a couple more hours. It was a Holiday.

130pm Mediterranean Deli for takeout BRUNCH! (Can you consider hummus and lamb Breakfast?) Apparently Med Deli was the place to be on Memorial Day.

230pm Downtown Hillsborough for Med Deli BRUNCH with the Revels family. Historic.

5pm Best Buy at New Hope Commons to pick up The Wire. After debating buying each season I got the entire series. OMAR COMING (After one night I’m on Episode 4)

6pm Whole Foods in Durham to get ingredients for dinner at home. Walked past a couple, wife loading up the cart while Husband shook his head and said, “Shit be cheaper at Kroger.”

TUESDAY JUNE 1st

930am DSI Comedy Office to #Hustle after the Memorial Day Wedding Weekend.

1230pm Top of the Hill to meet with Barry Leffler from 1360WCHL (we talked about the Station, Chapel Hill-Carrboro, DSI Witness News and a New super-secret comedy podcast)

3pm Weaver Street for a DSI Summer Intern Interview

4pm DSI Comedy Theater to work and prepare for 6-8pm IMPROV 501 class

930pm Tyler’s Taproom (Carrboro) for Young’s Double Chocolate Stout and to catch up with Paula Pazderka about her new job at RTI and writing her book — watch out Sedaris Family!

Alright, Back to work. Where do you go most?

IndyWeek stalks Zach

indyweek-tabby

Last week I got an interesting request from a writer at The Independent (@IndyWeek), our Local weekly. For the Annual Best of the Triangle Issue they wanted to track my whereabouts, QUOTE Foursquare-style, for an entire week, Wednesday May 26th – Tuesday June 1st. THANK GOD I already use Foursquare.

Here are my first three days.

THE ZW TIMELINE: I typically work until 2am (often later) and wake up by 830am everyday. The DSI Comedy Office IS my house, so its really just a quick brush my teeth, make coffee and get back to work.

WEDNESDAY MAY 26th

12pm DSI Comedy Theater to meet with Boys & Girls Club Rep about DSI fundraising

230pm Chick-fil-A at University Mall (No Spicy Chicken Sandwich yet) I go here whenever I schedule meetings in the area. Or do I schedule meetings when I need Polynesian sauce?

430pm Chapel Hill-Carrboro Chamber of Commerce to check-in with Laura Morrison about a Non-profit Roundtable I’m leading on June 9th.

730pm Anna Maria’s at Carrboro Plaza to meet with Aaron Keck about DSI Witness News (My Little Italy comfort food = BAKED ZITI with Italian Sausage).

9pm DSI Comedy Office, Back to work for the night.

THURSDAY MAY 27th

12pm DSI Comedy Theater to manage Justin, our WalkCarrboro Social Media Intern

1pm Carrburritos to meet with Kevin Browning about CageMatch and improv. We sat outside and enjoyed burritos Mejor, Guac and Sour Cream on the side. My Favorite Meat on the inside. Can you guess what it was? It’s the special and NOT the Tofu.

3pm Weaver Street Market for black UNSWEETENED iced tea meeting with Zannie Gunn.

4pm Back to DSI Comedy Theater, work up until IMPROV 201 class at 7pm.

10pm Armadillo Grill for my “Office Hours” — Eat chips, queso and talk comedy.

FRIDAY MAY 28th

1130am FullSteam Brewery to tour the new space and talk potential @DSIcomedy performance opportunities with my friend (and incredible Entrepreneur) Sean Lilly Wilson.

1230pm Tyler’s Restaurant at American Tobacco to enjoy lunch with Ginny Skalski (we talked about blogging, My spa addiction, Shakori Hills, LED lighting and boys — I ordered the french dip, but the pulled pork looked great).

3pm Dry Clean Warehouse on Airport Historic Martin Luther King Blvd. Actually DCW is on Homestead, so there goes my joke. I get my shirts pressed. What?

7pm DSI Comedy Theater for shows, MISTER DIPLOMAT FREE COMEDY Every Friday.

9pm The Station / Southern Rail for a Mocha Stout with Nieman & Poole wedding guests (and a lot of old friends). Home by 130am and blogging by 2am.

Tomorrow I plan to get up early, drink coffee, shower, iron pants, get my shoes shined, buy a crisp new white shirt and new black belt, rehearse for the Nieman & Poole Wedding at the Old Well, drink a couple Blue Cups at He’s Not, AND EAT PIG! Ahh, to enjoy my weekend.

You’ll get the whole 7 days on IndyWeek.com next week.

Exciting, I know.

Foursquare Nowhere

As soon as I get to sleep I am officially off the grid for two days.

I wanted to make it two SOLID days. I even booked a short stay a couple hours outside of town, which I can do now because of the Prius, but I got a call from a rep at NBC UNIVERSAL on Friday with an opportunity to moderate a panel with the cast of MacGruber. Monday at the Varsity Theatre. Wtf? Really? Night Two of my Two-Night vacation. Anyway, I guess I can drive back to hang out with Jorma Taccone, Will Forte, John Solomon and Ryan Phillippe in Chapel Hill.  I mean, twist my arm… You can be sure that I’ll have another post about that later this week. (Meanwhile, check out Lonely Island History and Boner Ghosts).

But still, until Tuesday, I’m offline. No Email. No Facebook. No Twitter. AND absolutely No Checking-in anywhere. No Foursquare, No Gowalla. And I still haven’t even started using Tri-Out.

Chances are you know every single time #ZW Works Out.

You know when I’m eating steak or drinking coffee, or both. You know WHERE I am WHEN I’m there because I check-in on apps that have, on more than one occasion, helped me connect to people who were just a short walk away. I talked to CNN last month about being “Mayor” of The Hotel Minneapolis and why social networking (READ: opt-in information overload) means so much to people today.

But for the next two days, I’m checking OUT of this:

zw-foursquare

And I’m checking IN to this:

floating-leaf

A leaf on the surface of the water, My #AntiHustle.

For the last 6 years I’ve used any floating leaf image to help me center.

A little #AntiHustle so I can get back to work (on Tuesday).
